Chicago FOPS

Hey everyone,

Who can make it from our Cell group to the next Chicago Fop? It would be great if many of us could go. Please comment here if you can make it to any of these.

Here is the upcoming schedule for Chicago Fops:

Friday Oct 22 - Holy family Parish in Westmont, 7 pm
Saturday Nov. 20th - Holy Family Parish in Westmont, 7 pm
Dec - No Fop
Friday Jan 21st - Holy Family Parish in Westmont, 7 pm

The Filla's are currently planning to attend each of these and we would be willing to help coordinate lodging for anyone wanting to go. There are several families in Westmont willing to host people on the FOP weekends so let us know if we can assist.

Let us worship and praise the Lord together!!!
The FOPs are an excellent way to introduce people to the community as well so invite your friends/family/neighbors!

Kurt

  2. Here is an update from Brian Bartley in Chicago. Brian is the current Cell group leader and in charge of the Fops.

    Hello Folks,

Our next BSCD Festival of Praise will be happening on Friday, October 22nd, in Holy Family Hall at Holy Trinity Church. It's exciting to come together again to praise His name and worship Him through song! This is another great chance to "dedicate ourselves to thankfulness" (Col 3:15) as we lift our hearts and voices in praise. In preparation, starting today, we have 10 days to pray that all of our hearts will be ready to enter into to a special time of closeness to our God, and experience the joy that comes in praising Him. As for the last few FOPs, let's spend some extra time each day in prayer and offer any little trials or sacrifices up to the Lord during these 10 days.

A reminder that the side door to the basement located on the southeast side of the church will be open. The start of praise will be around 7:15 or 7:20pm, to give people time to arrive and the musicians to set up the equipment. We will still be having ice cream after the praise & worship time ends, so bring your favorite flavor. And just like last time, any help you can provide at the end in cleaning up and restoring the hall to its original setup would be appreciated.

God continues to bless us with some wonderful times of worship and prayer, and please feel free to prayerfully invite others to come who may be interested in praying with us through song. If it's someone who has not had much or any experience with the charismatic gifts of the Spirit, please be mindful of this and take some time to talk with them before the FOP, or feel free to let Colleen, Julie, or me know so we can speak with them ahead of time about some of the things they may experience there. Thanks!

    God bless, everyone!
    Brian

  4. Yes!!! We can do it!!! We are all very excited :) Do you happen to have the address handy? If not I can google it.

Also, Michael and I finished our applications. We are just waiting for the letter from our priest. Hopefully we will have them in time to give Andrew our applications on Friday. We are very excited :) Hopefully we can get a chance to share our bios with the group. Think that it would be a great way to show others why we made this decision especially those who are considering and also the teens.
